Dr Jack Cookson

Jack is a senior Sport and Exercise Medicine Registrar moving to Qsports in 2024. He has experience covering a range of sports at the elite level and is passionate about using exercise to optimise outcomes for all patients.

After completing his foundation medical training in Geelong, Jack moved to Canberra to commence specialty training at the Australian Institute of Sport. In this role, he provided care to elite and talent pathway athletes in sports including basketball, volleyball, rowing, triathlon and swimming, as well as para-athletes.

Jack has since spent time in private practice at Specialist Sports Medicine Centre under the supervision of Dr Kylie Shaw, and has been team doctor for the Australian Men’s Cricket Team, Canberra Raiders (NRL), Canberra United (A League Women) and Geelong Cats (VFL). He has provided event coverage at the Australian PGA Golf Championship, the Canberra International Tennis Tournament, and the Canberra Marathon.

Outside of work, Jack is a single figure golfer, enjoys keeping fit and remains actively involved in community sport. His sporting highlight is representing Australasia in Gaelic football at the 2019 GAA World Games in Ireland.
