Mark is a Sport & Exercise Medicine Registrar who gained extensive experience in Orthopaedics before pursuing full-time Sport and Exercise Medicine. Mark continues to assist at Orthopaedic operations. In 2020, Mark worked at the Australian Institute of Sport as the ACT Academy of Sport Medical Officer. Mark has provided medical care for a range of elite sports, including netball, volleyball, soccer, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Australian Rules Football, athletics and rowing. Mark is the UQ Rugby Union (Red Heavies) club doctor and will be travelling to Tokyo for the 2020 Olympics as the Rowing Australia tournament doctor.
Mark's clinical interests include arthritis, exercise-induced leg pain, groin and hip pain, back pain, stress fractures, acute knee and shoulder injuries and peripheral nerve entrapment syndromes. In addition to looking after musculoskeletal conditions and sporting injuries, Mark has an evolving interest in regenerative sports medicine and injection techniques. Mark believes that the best outcomes are achieved when an accurate diagnosis is combined with an evidence-based, patient-centred management plan.
